Kirkland Tissue Mincers™

By definition, to "mince" is to subdivide minutely and that is precisely what these units do.

Most semi-soft vegetable or animal tissues, as well as many elastomers can be easily and rapidly minced for extraction and component analysis.

The Kirkland Tissue Mincers™ have the following features:

  • Machined from the highest quality stainless steel.
  • Produces impalpable puree from tissues.
  • Tissues can be processed directly into practically any container, such as centrifuge tubes, syringes, vials, etc. Therefore, no loss of product occurs.
  • No aerosolization or heat generation.
  • Can process frozen tissue without thawing.
  • Mincers can be cooled or warmed for thermosensitive tissues.
  • Hand operated; no external power sources or components required (e.g. liquid nitrogen).
  • Rapid and easy tissue processing with minimum cleanup time (e.g., 0.6g of tissue can be minced in less than 5 seconds, with cleanup time in detergent solution or solvent with final rinse only a few more seconds).
  • Can be ethylene oxide or steam sterilized, as well as dry heat sterilized at temperatures up to 480°F.
  • Three sizes available: 0.6mL, 3.0mL and 10.0mL.
  • Pressures up to 20,000 psig with accessory hand press are attainable using 0.6mL mincer.

One university writes:

"Thanks so much for your help in providing us with the additional tissue homogenizers and the support stand. Not only do they make our work more efficient, but the homogenizers clearly make a difference in the amount of xxxxx which can be extracted from the tissue matrix."

Another laboratory writes:

"The Kirkland Tissue Mincer has been used for tissue preparation in our BioAnalytical Laboratory. Tissues ranged from liver to whole rat fetus. These mincers have satisfied our requirements for processing biological tissues in a consistent. homogenous medium without heating or adding air as traditional tissue homogenizers do. The mechanical simplicity, ease of use, and clean-up allow us to prepare samples to the capacity of our analytical instruments. This is very important to us due to the sample volume put through our lab."
